Hum-free fan control

A Variac is an excellent solution for the stepless control of suitable AC fans in a grow room or grow tent. The large rotary knob increases or decreases the output voltage, allowing the speed and therefore the airflow of the fan to be precisely adjusted.

The great advantage compared to many cheap electronic speed controllers is the way the fan is regulated. A Variac varies the AC voltage without clipping the sine wave of the mains voltage. As a result, annoying motor hum is greatly reduced or preventedand the fan can continue to run quietly and stably.

This makes the Variac particularly suitable when quiet extraction is important, for example in living areas or other situations where noise disturbance must be limited as much as possible.

Precisely adjustable

The output voltage is steplessly adjustable from 0 to 300V AC. The built-in analog voltmeter clearly shows the set output voltage. This makes it easy to find a suitable balance between ventilation capacity and noise level.

The 500VA versionhas a maximum output current of 1.7Aand is suitable for smaller fans and other suitable AC equipment within the maximum load.

More than just fans

The Variac can also be used for other applications where a manually adjustable AC voltage is required, for example for testing or the controlled powering of suitable electrical equipment.
